Library Policies

The Oshawa Public Library Board has the authority, under the Public Libraries Act, 1990, and the Trespass to Property Act, 1990, to design and deliver public library service in Oshawa and to require compliance with such rules and regulations for the use of this service as it deems necessary. Underlying all Oshawa Public Library Board policies is the primary aim of facilitating access to a wide variety of information, in a safe and welcoming environment, to patrons who wish to make appropriate use of the Board's facilities, services, and collections. The Board's written policies concerning membership, collection development, censorship, and related matters, are available upon request.

You may enquire about the library's policies by contacting Karen Haley, Executive Assistant at the McLaughlin Branch:
65 Bagot Street
Oshawa, Ontario L1H 1N2
(905) 579-6111 Ext. 5213

Guidelines associated with the acceptable use of the Oshawa Public Libraries' services, as well as policies relating to library services and resources, may be found in the Oshawa Public Libraries By-Laws and Policies. The Oshawa Public Libraries' Membership Policy may be found here.
