Ordering

To order materials, you will need to tell us the title and as much other information as possible - author for books, actors for DVDs, artists for CDs, etc. For photocopies of magazine articles, we will also need the title and author of the article as well as the issue and page numbers where it appears.

Waiting time for interlibrary loan requests is typically 4 to 6 weeks, although some requests could take several months depending on the rarity or popularity of the item. We cannot guarantee fulfillment of your request by a certain date.

To process your request, your library card must be in good standing (i.e. not on "block" for outstanding charges or materials, not expired, etc) - please check that your membership is up to date. Unless otherwise noted on your request, circulating items will be held for pickup at your default branch. You can check with staff for your default branch and to have it changed if necessary.

Request cards are also available at all branches of the Oshawa Public Libraries.

Suggestions for additions to our collection can be made through the question/comment form.
