The shelves at the Oshawa Public Libraries were rocking on Saturday, February 21, as the first Battle of the Bands programme drew local bands and music fans to the McLaughlin Branch. Bands competed in three exciting categories:

Grades K-8: Ponies from the Unknown Dimension (Winner of Long & McQuade gift certificates donated by the Library)

Grades 9-12: The Nonchalants (Winner of 5 hours of studio time donated by the Library)

Grades 9-12: Bonafide Ride

Grades 9-12: Mixed Reality

Adult: Blucore (Winner of 10 hours of studio time donated by Wellcraft Music Studios)

Adult: One Divided

Adult: You Bet Your Life

To end the day, Toronto band Symphony of Nine entertained the crowd with their eclectic sounds.

Special thanks to Battle of the Band sponsors (Long & McQuade, Wellcraft Music, D’Addario, Legends Music, and Sabian Music) and to the judges (Taylor Abram, Scott Brindley, and Nick Pahman).
