Battle of the Books: Our 2017 Champions

Congratulations to Coronation PS who won the 2017 Regional Final in the Senior division! Well done!

Congratulations also to the Junior team from Coronation Public School for placing fifth at the Regionals.

The Battle of the Books is a fabulous partnership between public libraries and schools in Durham Region! If you want to motivate students who enjoy reading, get a team together and match wits with some of the best readers in town or even across the Durham Region. Registration begins mid-September.

Each year in April, the "Battle of the Books" teams from schools in Oshawa meet for the Semi-Battle competition. The top three teams from each division go on to the Final Battle to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. The gold medal winners are awarded a trophy for their school and go on to compete in the Regional Championship.

The Battle of the Books is hosted at two levels: the junior division is for students in grades 4 - 6 and the senior division is for students in grades 7 and 8.

The 2017 results are in!

The top three teams in Oshawa are

Junior
1. Coronation PS
2. Jeanne Sauvé PS
