Oshawa Public Libraries' annual Trash or Treasure event is back! Local experts will be available on Saturday, March 13, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to appraise your potential antique. Appraisals will be offered at $5.00 per item, with a limit of 1 item per person. Large pieces of furniture and other oversized items are not appropriate for this event. No advance registration required. Bring your item to the lower auditorium door (near Children’s entrance) at the McLaughlin Branch. Free parking all day!
On March 27th and 28th, Oshawa Public Libraries is collaborating with the Literacy Council of Durham Region to offer the Oshawa 2010 Literacy Read-a-thon at Isabella's Chocolate Café in downtown Oshawa. The Read-a-thon will run from noon Saturday to noon Sunday, with Children's activities from 12pm-3pm Saturday and Teen Time from 9pm-12am.
This Spring, Oshawa Teens grades 7 to 12 are invited to share their works of visual art and writing with the community by submitting a single work to the library for entry in the Express Yourself Teen Art and Writing Contest. Read the guidelines for submission in the contest brochure then fill out the entry form to participate. We look forward to seeing your artwork and sharing your best with the community.
